DEPLOYMENT

OPERATION MOSHTARAK

9th February 2010 - Deployed to Camp Bastion, Helmand Province.


14th February - transported via Chinook to Marjah, assisted in securing further landing sites in western sector of the city. Provided cover to RSE for disarmament of obstructive IEDs, eliminating 5 hostiles while under fire.


3rd April - Unit was engaged by civilian sympathisers with improvised grenades while on patrol; fired upon the crowd, resulting in the elimination of 2 hostiles. Cautioned for operating against the established ROE of courageous restraint.


13th December - Departed from Camp Bastion as part of the conclusion of Operation Moshtarak.

OPERATION HERRICK XVIII

3rd May 2013 - Assigned to 202 Signal Squadron as infantry support.


6th May - Participates in capture of insurgent forces attacking an ANA training center.


7th May - Unit receives intelligence from defecting members of captured forces of a planned bombing at a local school. Despite orders from command to obtain details, questioning and offers of clemency proved useless in convincing the commander of the forces to give an exact location. ---------------- ------------ proceeds to the detention area, assaults the MP on duty, retrieves the commander and exits the base via misrepresentation of orders to border patrol.


Excerpt from confession provides further details:

“Since you pricks were perfectly happy to let a bunch of foreign kids die, I wasn’t going to sit around with my thumb up my ass, was I? The fuck did you expect? I got the information, just like Command said. Everyone was perfectly happy with this shit at Abu Gharib and Bagram, but suddenly that’s off the table?


Let’s face it. You WANT results, you just don’t want to be seen to be doing what’s needed to get them.”


---------------- ------------ returns to Camp Bastion with the alleged location of the attack. Units are dispatched to evacuate the surrounding area.


8th May - Bombing at a local school, kills 37 civilians including 28 children.


15th May - Transferred to the Military Corrective Training Centre at Colchester Garrison.


22nd June - Sentenced to 24 months confinement at MCTC for misconduct under sections 2, 14, 22, 23, 29 and 30 of the Armed Forces Act 2006.

RELEASE

22nd June 2015 - Released from MCTC and transferred to 6 Military Intelligence Battalion.


7th July - Transferred to Chicksands for special-to-arm training by Templer Training Delivery Wing.
